I suspect at some point in the not too distant future we’ll have cameras that can identify a driver and check whether they are licensed firing off an alert if they are not. Might give license revocation more teeth. Though here in the US it might lead to a push for lighter penalties because “people need to be able to drive”.

Yep, that’d go over as well as you’d expect. He ll, even in places where public transport is decent, everything but subways are often thought of as being for the poor, and not something that respectable people would use.
